Random conversations with BFF Elaine just now and it went like this.

She said I got fucky hair -_-”’ Thankyouverymuch… Really bff can~

Went for the Transformers SG Fans Screening for the new movie Revenge Of The Fallen last Friday with my dear dear and his 2 colleagues. Both my dear dear and I have been looking forward to the movie since the first Transformers movie. As this was organised by the Transformers Fan Club, the fans were encouraged to wear something related to Transformers. So my dear dear brought the Optimus Prime helmet plus some printed stickers. All of us had fun that night. The movie was really awesome. My dear dear and I watched it the 2nd time at Filmgarde Bugis just now. Both of us enjoyed the movie as much as the first time we watched. I totally love how Sam called Bumble Bee “Bee…” in the movie. So cute can!

Transformers rawks!!!!

Optimus Prime, I likey :)

Last Friday, my dear dear brought me to watch the Video Games Live concert at the Indoor Stadium. This concert is basically music and animation from the most popular video games of all time like Super Mario, Final Fantasy, Pac Man and more using exclusive video footage and music arrangements from a full orchestra, synchronized lighting, live action performances and unique interactive segments. Very interesting indeed.

Dear dear came to fetch me for dinner with another 2 of his colleagues before we went for the concert.

Good view from where we were sitting.

After the concert, we went down to PowerHouse for Thomas’ Birthday celebration. Dear Dear and another 2 colleagues bought him a Waterfall which got him pretty drunk after that :p

My latest purchases – My fav, A uber cute Domokun and Nokia E71. Red colour for me and Metallic Grey for my sister.

With the recommendation of my colleague, she accompanied me to see a Buddhist shifu which she have been seeing for many years. It’s not that I am possessed by some evil spirits or whatsoever. Apparently, this Buddhist shifu is gifted to sense the well-being of every individuals. He can tell me things which only my closest people will know or only known to myself. Because of old and bad habits, my health hasn’t been good which resulted in frequent migraines and bad body aches. He said I can’t sleep well throughout the night too. I think alot of people sleep late nowadays which is also a big no-no as it affects the process of repairing your exhausted body. He shared with me quite a fair bit but certain details are too personal to share here. He also said I got to try to relax and remain a peaceful mind. I am overly stressed up and it feels like a huge stone resting heavily on my chest. With so many things to think and worry about, how not to feel stress right? But I just got to learn to look at things positively and not take it too hard. Maybe I should plan my Japan trip earlier instead. Holidays do wonders to the mind and body :) And of course meeting the BFFs and friends for some laughing sessions over dinner sounds good too! Not forgetting my family and my dear dear who are there for me always. I am blessed.

My recent weekend started earlier than usual because I took the Vesak Day holiday-in-lieu on Friday. So after I knocked off on Thursday, I went to meet my dear dear for dinner. Since I am craving for some Thai food, I decided to bring him to Golden Mile Complex (or better known as Little Thailand) for Thai food.

We ordered beef kuay tiao and tom yum goong. I had the thai ice tea and dear dear had lemongrass juice. It’s so yummy and spicy~ Shiok!

Since both my dear dear and myself were off from work on Friday, we slept through till noon before we headed to Compass Point for lunch. We have been seeing this particular advertisement on TV a couple of months ago but haven’t really tried it yet. Since they have opened a branch at Compass Point, we decided to give it a try. I am sure most of you have seen the advertisement before. It goes:”Jia Xiang, Jia Xiang, Jia Xiang, Mian Mian Mian. Jia Xiang, Jia Xiang, Jia Xiang, Mian Mian Mian. Ooooooh Jia Xiang Mian!”

The noodles not too bad but I find it abit too pricey.

After our lunch, we went for some window shopping before heading back home to continue watching our favourite Hells Kitchen series. As my dear dear wanted to go to the Midnight Launch of the Transformers:Revenge Of The Fallen toys at Forum’s Toys’R'Us, both of us went Orchard for dinner and shopping. We reached Forum Shopping Centre at around 10.45pm and the queue was so long lor. From Level 3 all the way to Level 1. My dear dear very clever. He expected the huge crowd so he already asked me to prepare my PSP and his comic book before we left the house. -_- Want to how pro. As there’s a free goodie bag for the 1st 200 customers, I find that most people were queuing up for the goodie bags instead of going there for the newly launched toys. When we went inside Toys’r'us, I can literally see the newly released Transformers toys flying off the shelves. Those avid toys collectors just don’t wanna miss out on any good item I think. It’s pretty interesting seeing them you know. The scenario was like those ladies who were queuing for the branded sale in Confessions Of A Shopaholic and how they chiong inside the shop and started grabbing what they wanted. But this time round, it’s mostly men. Well, I think men can be a worse shopaholic than women :p

For the midnight launch, they were giving away $20 voucher for all the Toys’R'Us members and UOB credit card members. So my dear dear got 1 voucher and I got 1 voucher. See the grin on my dear dear’s face and the new toys he bought, of which 2 of them were bought by me for him. Ji happy lor this man.

Gosh… so fast 1 year just zoomed by like that and it’s adding another year to my age again. This year as usual, I celebrated my birthday with my family at home first. I still enjoyed the home-cooked food prepared by my mum. But this year there’s a slight difference because I helped out with the cooking too :p I shall elaborate more about my birthday celebration with the photos taken below.

Before I continue, I also want to thank those who smsed me to wish me Happy Birthday. It’s really thoughtful of them to remember my birthday :)

This is my first birthday pressie from bestie Noelle. It’s a Miu Miu keypouch and also my first Miu Miu :) It was given to me like 2 weeks earlier because she needs to be away for work in KL the week before my birthday. Really so sweet of her! Now recession you know and she shouldn’t have gone to such expense. But nevertheless, I totally appreciate it! Thanks bestie!

These are the few simple dishes prepared by my mum and me for my birthday celebration on Labour Day – celebrated 1 day in advance with my family.

My beloved sister bought me a very nice durian cake from The Goodwood Park Hotel and even made me a birthday card. Thank you my dear sister!

Cake-cutting time and photos taken with my family. I really love them very much and I am thankful for having them as my family.

On the actual day of my birthday, my dear dear’s mummy cooked me a bowl of mee sua with 2 eggs in the morning and bought me a small cake too. Pardon my no make-up face because I was preparing to go for my swim :p

Dinner at night with my dear dear was supposed to be at Tampines 1 but I think the whole Singapore went there wor. We drove to a few carparks but couldn’t find a lot to park the car. So since we just want to have a simple dinner, we went to Swensens at Compass Point instead. Like the Swensens ad : I am so going to Swensens!

I ordered Sirloin steak for myself.

MY dear dear ordered Teriyaki Spaghetti.

I also ordered Frosted Chocolate Malt for dessert. No dessert for my dear dear because he just recovered from fever.

After the dinner, we went back home to rest. Once I entered my dear dear’s bedroom, he asked me to sit down on the chair in front of the tv and he played me a video he did himself which he took 3 days to complete. Halfway through the video, I can feel my tears rolling down my cheeks because I was totally touched by his efforts to make the video. When it comes to the last part of the video, I realised it was not just a normal birthday video but a proposal video. When I turned to him after watching the video, he was kneeling down beside me with the ring. All I know after that was I could not stop crying already. So happy. So touched.

The video my dear dear did for me. The song he selected was really good I must say. Thank you for doing all these my dear!

The proposal ring :)

My parents are away in Genting for holidays. My brother is in camp. My sister is out with her colleagues. Although I know no one is going to be home tonight, but I still choose to not go anywhere and head back home after work.

The train journey was unusually fast today. Maybe because I was reading “The Confessions Of A Shopaholic” :p When I reached my destination, I went to the NTUC at the station to see if I need to get anything. After walking 1 round with nothing in mind, I decided to walk over to Sheng Shiong across the road. After going past the tidbits section (very sinful!) for umpteenth times, I decided to buy 2 cups of Calbee Jagabee :) After paying, I walked to the coffeeshop near my house to buy a packet of Duck Porridge for dinner before heading home.

I took a nice foamy bath and did a hair treatment for my newly permed hair. Feeling and smelling fresh, I switched on my notebook, went to the kitchen to pour myself a glass of orange juice prepared by my dad, plonked on the sofa and took my dinner in front of the tv which was showing korean drama. After filling my stomach, I put a bird nests mask (recommended by BFF Elaine Rebecca Bloom Woo :p) on my face before I started blogging.

My sister smsed me asking where I am while I was having my dinner and my reply to her was :”Home alone eating duck porridge lor.” She can reply me :”Oh, Say until like so poor thing.. Haha..” Well, I told her it’s not poor thing at all because I am enjoying it. Spending time alone and doing the things you like can do wonders to a stressful body and mind. Alrighty, that’s all for my very-own edition of Home Alone :) Off to do some online shopping now! Ciao!

Edited to add : My uber sweet sister bought her ‘home alone’ sister McDonalds munchies when she came home just now. You see… Being home alone really isn’t that bad afterall *wink*

Well, as you can see from the title of the post, it meant that I went ahead for my holiday in Bangkok. After seeing the news that the Red Army had dispersed and everything went back to normal, we decided to just go and enjoy ourselves. When we reached Bangkok, we saw that there were also people like us who still choose to visit the land of smiles. I think as long as we don’t wear any yellow or red tops, we should be safe. The 3 days were spent eating Thai food, going for massages, Tom Yum Goong, drinking beer and shopping. One word to describe – Shiok!

Had breakfast at the airport before boarding.

Our stay at Le Meridien Bangkok was fantastic. Big comfy King-size bed, nice view from our room, big bath tub where you can take your luxurious bath and watch tv at the same time :p

We had a quick lunch at KFC before we headed to Chatuchak Weekend Market.

Of cos not forgetting to pray to the Four-Faced Buddha for blessings before heading to Central World for lunch.

Lunch at Yum Saap Thai Restaurant. Out of so many Tom Yum Goong we tried during the 3 days there, this restaurant served one of the best because it’s really spicy.

Dinner was at the little Thai restaurant at Patpong. We also ordered some beers to cool ourselves down. Can you imagine the weather there was between 38 to 40 Degree Celsius? -_-”’

On our 2nd day, we woke up early to have breakfast at the hotel.

This is how the Patpong streets looked like in the day. They will fix up the stalls around 4ish in the afternoon and unfix everything at night. If you have been to Patpong, you will wonder how they fix up so many stalls on the long stretch of street.

It’s time for lunch again after shopping around at Central World. As usual, we had Thai food again. Haha…

We walked from Central World to Platinum Shopping Mall and Pratunam for more shopping. It’s super hot and tiring lor. So we stopped to rest our legs and quench our thirst at A&W. Rootbeer float we like! :)

We continued our shopping at MBK before we headed to Chinatown for dinner. Besides Tom Yum Goong & praying the Four-Faced Buddha, another must-have when you are in Bangkok are sharks fin and bird nests! From the photos you can see how much both of us ate throughout the whole trip :) Well, who cares about getting fat when you are on holiday dio boh? Just eat and enjoy!

How time flies when you are on holiday. It’s the 3rd and last day already. We had a light breakfast at the hotel before going back to our room to pack. Since we had late check-out till 4pm, we can relax abit more. Still a lover for the sun, I decided to go for a swim. I practically had the whole pool to myself. The whole pool place was so resort-style and relaxing. I enjoyed a good swim and sun-tanning session :) Heavenly~

We had a late lunch of Thai food (yet again :p) before we went for massage.

Just celebrated my dear dear’s birthday last Saturday. This year, there are no extravagant birthday gift and no expensive birthday treats. It’s just a normal dinner at a normal Japanese restaurant. It’s not because of recession. But it’s because both of us are saving up for more important things. Anyway, both of us are supposed to go Bangkok this weekend to celebrate his birthday and take a short holiday. But because of the riots there, yet again -_-, we are considering of canceling our Bangkok trip and change it to Hong Kong instead. At least we are going somewhere safer just so that we can enjoy ourselves. So now I am still considering whether to go Bangkok or not. Though my dear dear’s birthday celebration was a simple one this time round, but he’s still happy that he have me celebrating with him. So sweet lah this notti one of mine :)

Cake-cutting at home with his family

Japanese food, we love!

Happy Birthday my notti one! Muacks!

Last Wednesday meet up with my ex-colleagues, Linda & Jessica for dinner. I think they are more of friends now instead of ex-colleagues. It’s always nice catching up with them. We chatted about anything and everything. With Linda around, there’s bound to be laughter every time we meet up. Well, she always have some really hilarious incidents to share with us. We were hoping we doesn’t need to wait several months to meet up once. After our dinner, we adjourned for drinks and continue chatting throughout the night. We even planned to go for holiday together sometime end of this year. Sweet! :)

And the next day which was last Thursday, I met up with the BFFs (Elaine, Shihua but minus Wendy :p) after work. Supposed to be a movie cum dinner cum ice-cream session but ended up became a dinner cum ice-cream session. As usual, we still enjoyed the night together. Now gonna wait for Elaine to come back on Wednesday, hoping that we can still catch that movie named after her. LOL!

Only managed to take the pictures of our dinner and ice-cream. Pictures of us are in Elaine’s camera. Keke…
