Future ERP

Prices of all kinds of things are increasing like nobody’s business. Having studied Principles of Economy before, this is definitely a sign of inflation. I think this inflation is here to stay. It’s really scary when you realised even daily necessities have become luxury items. With the taxi hikes, the trains are super-packed with commuters most of the time now. You no longer see long queues at the taxi stand but you will see long queues of taxis waiting for passengers instead. Paying nearing $50 for taxi fare in S’pore is no longer a norm now. As news of more price hikes start to appear, the car owners are not spared either. Whenever I hear the news over the radio and read the news on the newspaper about ERP price hikes and new ERP gantrys, I will say a silent prayer for all the drivers in S’pore. Who knows in the near future, the roads of S’pore will look like this.

May God not only bless them safety when they are driving on the road, but also bless them strong hearts when they heard the “beep” sound more often than their incoming smses on their mobile phones.

The Varina

I was browsing the Urban section of the Straits Times newspaper this morning and saw a full page article on Salvatore Ferragamo who will be launching its own ballet flat, the Varina, today.
This bow-clad patent leather ballet flats cost $679 per pair and come in virtually all colours of the rainbow, including coral, fuchsia, blue, soft pink and yellow. The Varina (which means “little Vara” in Italian) is a ballet-flat version of its classic bestseller, the Vara. The Vara which cost $539 per pair has a 3cm high stacked heel while the Varina is less than 1cm high. Ultra feminine and stylish, isn’t it? I shared this article with a colleague of mine who loves Ferragamo shoes and both of us got so excited in the office over these lovely ballet flats. We are so gonna get a pair for ourselves soon!

These are Varina Satin Bow Flat.

Love @ 1st Sight

This little lovely thing caught my eye when I was browsing the LV website and I fell in love with it immediately. I am so gonna put it as my top must-buy item in my Shopping-List already :p

2 Special Events on 19 Jan 08

19 Jan 2008 is a very special day. Firstly, it’s the solemnization of Marilyn and Edmund. Secondly, it’s Noelle’s baby girl-Natalie’s baby shower.

I am very happy for the newly-wed couple who knew each other at Devilsbar, like me and the notti one. Sometimes, it doesn’t really mean you won’t meet your special someone at a club/pub. Maybe it’s fate ba. Once again, I hereby wish them a blissful marriage. Here are some of the photos I took when I was invited to share the special moment of their lives. The bride looked gorgeous and the groom looked great that day.

After the solemnization, I went off to Noelle’s house to attend her baby girl’s baby shower. Sweet Natalie was dressed in lovely pink that day. Mummy Noelle also showed me around her new house. Super big and nice wor. I totally love her bedroom and the walk-in wardrobe. I think I can get her to design my room for me when I have a new house. Hehe… My notti one came to join me at Noelle’s house after studying for his exams. I even brought him round to see the new house on Noelle’s behalf :p Photos time again~

I need to get a haircut again….. soon

My Little Shoes Indulge

I think I have been spending a tad too much for the past 2 months but nothing’s gonna stop me from continuing my favourite de-stress solution – SHOPPING!

Just this afternoon during lunchtime, I went shopping not for myself but for the notti one. Bought the notti one 4 shirts from G2000. I am a good girlfriend because I didn’t forget to shop for the notti one :p (Alright people, don’t puke.)

My wardrobe is now full of new clothes with price tags still on them, preorder bags which I have not collected from the online sprees and new shoes still in the shopping bags. I have the time to shop but no time to unpack. Eh.. and also lazy to unpack :p So since I got to spring clean my room for the coming Chinese New Year, I unpacked everything just now. Phew! So tiring lor. But when I look at the things I bought, I felt so happy. It’s the first time I enjoyed doing spring-cleaning i think. Haha…

Anyway, these are the new shoes I bought within the last 1 month. Most of them are still unworn. I think I got to get a nice shoe rack to keep all my lovely shoes :)

Bought these two pairs of shoes during my recent Hong Kong trip. Gold colour shoes can match outfits easily.

The black and white heels is my last pair from Charles & Keith. I agree that they always have very nice designs but their shoes keep giving me blisters. The black heels on the right is my first pair from Novo. Super comfy and I have been wearing it for work ever since I bought it.

I got this pair of boots in white during my recent HK trip too. As for the Nike trainers, I bought them to replace my old Fila one.

The top 2 pairs of shoes were pre-ordered from online sprees. Lastly, the lovely black leopard-print wedge and black pointed leather pumps were my latest additions to my little shoes indulge.

PS:I have deadlines (which is tomorrow) to meet for several urgent tasks from my bosses which I have brought home to complete but here I am blogging about my shoes indulge. Urgh! Tonight no need to sleep liao lor. Gdnight & sweet dreams everybody~

PPS to Elaine: Start dreaming of shoes again~~ :) And bags.

Till Death Do Us Part

This morning, I was telling the notti one about my mum’s friend cum ex-neighbour who passed away in her sleep the night before. Imagine my mum and this friend plus several others met up the day before for breakfast. Then the next day she’s gone.

Like MC King’s sudden death, she went peacefully with no pain or suffering. Although everybody got to die one day, but the thought of being gone forever is indeed frightening. It’s not like you can’t meet the person today because you are busy but still can arrange to meet them on other days. You will never get to see them ever again even if you have free time to spare now.

Let me state a real life story here. The night before MC King passed away, one DJ actually called him. He asked her whether she’s asking him out for coffee but she said she just called to check something with him. She said she’s too busy so she can’t go for coffee. But who knows this friend cum colleague of hers passed away the next day. And yes she will never see him again. How sad, isn’t it?

So people, no matter how busy you are, please do not neglect the people around you, be it friends or family. Everybody has 24 hours a day. If you use it wisely, you can do something meaningful to the people you love within minutes with simple gestures like sending your regards via SMS.

After sharing the above with the notti one, I was totally touched by his following reply:-

Dear Dear:”baby cannot die be4 me,i’ll be very sad”

Dear Dear:”i die first”

My dear, we must cherish the time we have together no matter who passes on first. To love is easy but to maintain a relationship is not. Having been together for 3 years going through thick and thin has brought us closer to each other. May our love grows stronger, till death do us part. Muacks!

Day 4 in Hong Kong

Here comes the pictures taken during my 4th day in Hong Kong. In the morning, me and my notti one went Mongkok for breakfast and did our shopping.

We ordered some roast duck, roast pork and roast pig. It was really nice. The notti one also ordered roast pigeon. It was my first time trying and it tasted not bad either.

Passed by this shop where they sell different types of buns. All handmade de wor.

After our breakfast, we walked around and explored Mongkok. Take a look at their wet & dry market.

This is how “Nu Ren Jie” also known as Women’s Street looked like in the morning. It’s like night markets. A long stretch of road with little stalls on both sides. Alot of things to see and buy too.

Went into one of the shopping centre similar to S’pore’s Far East Plaza. Saw alot of people buying from this stall and we decided to buy some to try it out. They have cold noodles, cockles, crabmeat etc in small packets. Once you have selected what you want, they will mix everything together with the cold noodles and some sauce. Viola! and it’s ready to be eaten. It tasted abit like spaghetti.

The notti one was totally excited to see lots of toy shops :)

They even have the whole section called ToyMart of like 3-4 levels just selling toys. Most of the toys were selling at a much cheaper price compared to S’pore.

A strong aroma caught my attention the moment we stepped out of the shopping centre. That familiar smell. My favourite fermented tofu aka “chou dou fu”!!! My notti one bought a stick of mala fishballs. Nice too!

After more than half a day of shopping with handfuls of shopping bags, we headed back to our hotel to put the stuff, rested our legs before we went to the Avenue of Stars located at Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront Promenade. We were lucky that night because they had some kind of lightings performance. It was really beautiful when you see the lights on the buildings and lasers flashing across.

We went back to Mongkok again for 2nd round of shopping. When we were done shopping at Women’s Street, we walked all the way to Temple Street. Notti one said there’s a shop selling pig’s blood porridge which he wanna try. Temple Street also have a small night market too.

After walking for like an hour plus, we stopped at a restaurant to have our dinner and rest our super tired legs. We ordered fried rice, beef kuaytiao and prawns. See our tired faces?

After our dinner and with no chance of finding that porridge the notti one wanted to try, my sharp eyes chanced upon a porridge shop and I asked the notti one to check it out. Bingo! He got the pigs’ blood porridge he wanted and he thanked me for it :) On our way back to our hotel, I bought myself a Milk Egg Tart. It was soft and delicious. I don’t really wanna know how much weight I put on during this Hong Kong trip lor :p But it’s all fun and worth it!

Fabulous Four @ Bliss Cafe

Met up with Elaine, Wendy and Shihua at our fav hangout, Bliss Cafe last night. As usual, we had lots of laughter throughout the night. The topics we had you won’t wanna imagine because it’s beyond description. The end result always makes the four of us laughing till we nearly teared. Lovely Elaine even brought back little gifts for us from London. So sweet of her! I totally enjoyed my time with them. Friends are there to make your life even more meaningful, isn’ it? That’s why no matter how busy I am with my work and studies, I will make time for my lovely friends like them. It’s all worth it even if I got to sacrifice a few hours of my beauty sleep :) Yes. They are that precious to me. As for the photos we took last night, they can be viewed at Elaine and Wendy’s blogs. Alrighty. Got to go for meeting now. Ciao!

PS to Mar, Kelly, Ju & Esther: So sorry I can’t meet you girls tonight cos I have lessons to attend. See ya ladies next week! :)

Day 3 in Hong Kong

Day 3 in Hong Kong was the last day for most of my colleagues but lucky me extended my stay for 2 more days. So after having breakfast with my notti one, we checked out of Le Meridien Cyberport and checked into another hotel – Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers.

Our breakfast at Le Meridien Cyberport. See my fat fat face? Hahah….

Notti one and his breakfast

Our room at Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers.

On our way in the LTR to the Disneyland.

Notti one went to get the tickets when we reached. We just basically walked and explored the whole disneyland resort because also not very big. Hehe… Hopefully I get to visit the Disneyland when I go Japan :)

After spending quite some time in the souvenirs shop, we came out and saw alot of people sitting by the road waiting for the Disney characters parade. It was really nice to see them up-close. Of course I didn’t get as excited like the small kids do because I think I am way too old for these liao. Haha…

Me and the lovely carriage Cinderella took to the Ball :)

After exploring about 60% of the place, we decided to take this boat ride which we queued for 30 mins. The ride even have a storyline with special effects like elephants squirting water.

Of course not forgetting to take photos with the famous lovable Disney characters but the notti one and I only managed to have enough patience and tolerance (long queues everywhere) to take a photo with Minnie Mouse.

The notti one and I went on to try other rides too and 1 of them was a super thrilling roller coaster space ride. It was indoor and super-fast lor. The ride below was a hilarious one because when you stepped on the accelerator, it will give off a weird whirling sound. Both the notti one (the driver) and I (the passenger) were laughing throughout the whole ride. We even made fun of the “traffic police” by stepping on and off the accelerator to distract him (Of cos with the weird sound going on and off) because he stopped us unnecessarily :p

See the happy smile on notti one’s face? Hahaha… When we were taking this ride, he said:”Baby, when we were in S’pore, dear dear drives you around. Now in HK, I am still the one driving you around leh. Kelian hor?” LOL! So notti can!

Next we went on to take another ride – To shoot aliens from our spaceship. Quite fun leh.

Exhausted, we decided to sit down, relax and watch The Golden Mickeys show. It’s kinda like a theatre show. Pretty interesting with the characters singing and dancing around. Quite funny too because all the Disney characters were speaking in Cantonese. Notti one even said the Mickey Mouse sounded like Zheng Zhiwei. LOL!

The sky had turned dark and the last show for the night were the fireworks. While waiting, the notti one went to get us some food.

The castle were beautiful with the dazzling lights and fireworks. It’s like in the fairytale but minus the crowd lah.

After a day of fancy fairytales, it’s time to leave the resort. So we took the LTR again to Mongkok for our dinner. While we were in the train, I insisted the notti one to hold on to the mickey handhold for me to take photo. Keke…

We found a small food stall to have our dinner which the notti one said he went before when he was in Hong Kong last year. He ordered beef noodles while I had wantan mee. You don’t see the wantan mee so plain hor. The soup was really tasty and the wantan super big de lor. Yummy!

Still not feeling satisfied, I dragged the notti one to have some desserts with me. Eh, go there must enjoy fully though all the eating is so gonna make me fatter. Look at the many varieties they have. We were really spoilt for choices.

Initially we wanted to order this 3-in-1 set but the seller said it’s very small portion. So I ordered an additional Mango Sago. Who knows when the order came, the notti one and I looked at each other with the “This one where got small portion?” look on our faces. But in the end we still managed to finish everything :p With our stomachs so full, we went to shop around before we headed back to the hotel to rest.

Disneyland in Japan shall be one of our next holiday destination itinerary :)

Local Comedian MC King Died

My sister is on leave for the whole of this week and as usual when she’s free she will check out some of the local artistes’ blogs. She got a rude shock when she saw the latest post in Jack Neo’s blog. It was news about our local comedian MC King’s death. When she told me about it, I was totally shocked too. After she sent me the link on the news, I totally believe that life is truly very fragile. You will never know when your beloved people around you will be taken away from you forever. That’s really very sad. A brand new year just started and tragedies has started happening. So please treasure all the people you love. I hereby would like to wish everybody in the pink of health every single day instead of wealth. Always remember that no matter how much money you might have, but it can never buy you health.
