My sweetest beloved Elaine dear bought me an item of desire, an object of sheer luxury, an element of pure lust. A lovely pair of Ferragamo Carla Pumps in Patent Black! She said she can’t wait to pass me that lovely Carla over an exchange of smses a few days ago. And through that exchange of smses with her before she went off to the Land of Coach, she asked me whether I need anything from there. Unable to overcome the strong temptation, I got her to get me something there :p I must tell Elaine I will join her “Eat Bread & Drink Water” Club very soon but she shall be the President of the club. LOL! She’s sure to slap me when she heard this.

Random Update
Random No. 1 – Redeem my free 2D1N Weekend Stay With 2 Buffet Breakfast Voucher at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel during the recent weekend. The notti one was in need of a short break and I thought it was the best time to relax considering Friday was a public holiday. Both of us enjoyed the short break totally!
Random No. 2 – This is my workstation and it looks like this every day. There are work given to me by my 4 directors and I am constantly working on the work given by them simultaneously. As we have a “Clean Table” policy, we have to clear and tidy up our workstations before we leave the office everyday. Hmmm, I should have taken a photo of my workstation before I left office today.
Random No. 3 – Notti one’s sister brought the 2 dogs over to his house over the weekend. They just bought a male Siberian Husky which looks like Sugar. He was named Roxy and he’s much more active than Sugar. Don’t know for whatever reason, the notti one always call him The Rock. Hahaha…
Random No. 4 – Preordered these bags for myself and my sister from a Taiwan spree last Nov but only received them during the recent weekend lor. What a long wait! When I smsed my sister the good news, she replied with even better news. The bags we ordered from another Taiwan spree 2-3 weeks ago have arrived and ready for collection. Suddenly, both of us got alot of new bags to use liao
Also means I got to start doing some packing to make space for the new bags :p
Random No. 5 – The notti one has been playing this new game on his PSP for the past 2 weeks. And during these 2 weeks, I have been hearing :”Pata Pata Pata Pon…. Pon Pon Pata Pon….Chaka Chaka Pata Pon…” It’s a rhythm game, but not one that requires the player to follow musical cues. Instead a thin light rectangle pulses at the perimeter of the screen and a beat plays through the speakers. But the characters you control — a small army of little critters with swords and spears and the like — don’t do anything. They stand still, until the player stars pressing buttons.
The PSP’s square button is assigned to a chant of the word “pata!” The circle button is “pon!” Create the chant “Pata! Pata! Pata! Pon!” and the little guys march forward. The chant: “Pon! Pon! Pata! Pon!” and the guys attack, shooting their bows and arrows, sending their horsemen in. The triangle button is “Chaka!” so that “Chaka! Chaka! Pata! Pon!” can make them defend. The X button is “Don” which somehow triggers miracles (I was told these are handy in, say, a desert level where the miracle of rain is needed).
This game is pretty addictive. Not only that, the music really gets in your head. Click HERE to view a clip about this game. But don’t say I didn’t warn you. The music is really addictive. If you do not have a PSP and would like to play the game, you can click HERE to play it online ![]()
Jakarta International Jazz Festival 08
Here comes the photos I took when I went to the Jakarta Java Jazz Festival with Linda 2 weeks ago. We took the evening flight on 7 March and came back on 9 March night. It’s my first time to Jakarta and it was a nice experience.
The 3-day Jakarta International Jazz Festival is a major Indonesian jazz festival and it’s usually held at the Jakarta Convention Centre. The Jakarta Covention Centre is connected with the 5-Star Sultan Hotel(their official hotel where most of the artistes will stay) by a travelator-equipped tunnel. If you are interested to know more about this festival, you can click here to read more about it.
Linda used to work for the boss who is doing all the organising for this festival, which explains why we got Special VIP passes. Haha! We can even go to the backstage to see the artistes. I shall stop here and let the photos do the talking.
Our journey to Jakarta and we were served some light snacks during the flight on Lufthansa.

We reached Jakarta after an hour’s flight. Linda’s ex-boss’s driver came to the airport to fetch us to his apartment where we will be staying. Linda was on the phone with her ex-boss informing him we have arrived.

Taman Anggrek is like our Great World City which comprised of service apartments on top of the shopping mall but they have alot of different towers. Look at the carpark they have. It’s all in tiles de.

After putting our luggage at the apartment, off we went to the festival. And this is the long travelator we have to take from the Sultan Hotel to Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC).

Welcome to Jakarta International Jazz Festival! Did you see the name, DJI SAM SOE? If I remember correctly, Linda told me they are one of the big sponsors for the jazz festival. The name sounds like some clubs right? But guess what? It’s a cigarettes brand lor. Hehe…

Went to their secretarial office to get our passes. Most of the youngsters who helped out in the festival like them are volunteers. To them, it’s an honour to be part of this jazz festival.

Photos taken with Linda’s warm and friendly ex-colleagues

But of course our main purpose to Jakarta is to see the artistes perform for the festival. Both Linda and I, together with her ex-boss, went to different halls to see different artistes performing. One of the best performances I like was from Earth Wind & Fire Experience feat. Al McKay All Stars. Linda and I stood for an hour plus for the whole performance. Awesome! Took a video of them when they were singing the song “September” but lazy to upload :p

After most of the performances ended, we went to one of their popular clubs called X2. Nice music with booze and great company
By the time both of us hit the pillows, it’s already 6am. After a few hours of sleep, we went to have our brunch at this Chinese restaurant at Taman Anggrek called Huang Ting.

Look at what we ordered. It’s cheap so we just order and order though we jolly well know we can’t finish. So in the end, we tabao back -_-”’ But the food was nice though.

After eating, we got the driver to bring us to their so-called IT Mall.

Linda browsing through the DVDs for korean movies. 1 DVD is only RP7000 which is about SGD1. Dirt cheap and the quality was really good. They will test the DVDs for you before you pay for your purchase. Good customer service.

Next we went to another big shopping mall with all the big brands. Bought the familiar Quickly bubble tea to quench our thirst. Oh ya, BreadTalk is very popular in Jakarta. Linda asked me to geh geh take a photo of her but actually wanna take the long queue we saw. Haha…

Enough of window-shopping, we went back to JCC for more photo-taking and see other performances for the day. It’s crowded everyday and you can see how much those people love music.

Does this look familiar? Yes, this was what we tabao back from our brunch. We found some nice DVDs at the apartment and decided to relax for the night with some food and liquor. Keke… Shiok!
Woke up pretty early on the next day because Linda had gotten her Jakarta ex-colleagues to book massage for us. On the way, I decided to take some photos of the roads and their so-called ERP system. Certain roads are separated into 2 lanes, 1 lane you can use for free but it’s always jam. Another lane you got to pay tariff toll but traffic is much better. Too bad S’pore is too small. If not at least can give the drivers a choice to pay to use the roads. Unlike our ERP system. Bleah~

Massage time! Both of us chose aromatherapy massage. Shiok!

Took some photos before our massage. Nice place indeed!

Both of us fell asleep during the massages lor. After the massage, they served us some ginger tea and biscuits. Super relaxed.

Feeling hungry after the massage, we went to the nearby shopping mall to find food. Haven’t been to their food court so we went to see see look look. Not bad leh. It’s like mini restaurants.

We bought some indonesian food to try. It tasted just like our malay food in S’pore but more oily.

Since we still have time, Linda suggested we go and try their cream bath. It’s some kind of hair treatment plus head and shoulder massage. Not really good because the guy who did the massage for me seem to be using 100% of his strength, pressing his fingers on my head instead of massaging my scalp. Pain!

In Jakarta, only the rich people will always go to the hair salons to wash and blow their hair. Do you know that they actually charge a fee for blow-drying? Most of the time, the poor people will leave the salon with their hair towel-dry after washing. The poor and the rich are an extreme contrast. To cut the story short, I ask the guy to go ahead to blow dry my hair. In my mind I knew they sure blow my hair until pong pong one. After they are done, I asked Linda to see my hair. She said I looked like “Ibu” (rich tai tai in Indonesia) LOLZ!

It’s time to leave for the airport so I took some pictures of the apartment. Nice and cosy.

On the flight back to S’pore, Linda and I started to discuss on plans to go some other places for holidays. It’s really fun travelling with her ![]()

Chipmunk-alike Cheeks
Am down with mumps since yesterday. It’s so swollen and painful that I have difficulty drinking water and eating food. With the swollen cheeks, it’s not doing any good to my mood either. I felt very frustrated when I am very thirsty but it hurts the moment I open my mouth to sip some water. I felt very frustrated when I am so hungry but it hurts the moment I open my mouth to eat the porridge. Totally maddening but am feeling helpless. Sigh~ I just hope the swell and pain will go away very soon. In the meantime, I will sort out the photos I have taken during my recent Jakarta trip and post it up soon.
I Love Online Shopping!
I have been receiving emails from some of you asking me where I usually do my online shopping. Well, it’s pretty common to shop online these days, isn’t it? It’s very convenient because it can be done at the comfort of your home in your gong-gong glasses and PJs. There’s cost-savings too if you get the things from sprees with combined shipping charges shared among the other buyers. The only disadvantage is the waiting time for your items to be shipped to your house which takes between 14 days to a month. But I have encountered some really good sellers who have good delivery records. Items can be received in less than a week at times. Without wasting any more time, let me briefly intro the following online shops I frequent ba
Jvari is where you can get trendy korean style fashion. My friend is the seller of this online shop, whom I was helping last year. For those who bought the clothes from me before and love the designs and quality can buy directly from her now. Please do remember to quote my name “Geraldine” when you purchase from her so that she knows you read about it from my blog.
Shadow Goblins is my colleague’s sister’s online shop where she organises shoe sprees. She don’t earn any money out of it because the cost is simply too low to warrant any profit. A very nice and friendly lady who will try to answer your enquries on the sizes etc.
I love shopping An online seller who import clothes, accessories and bags from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan. Organises sprees from taiwan websites too.
Best Price Cosmetics offers the best price in town for cosmetics, fragrances, skin care and body care. It was recommended by my ex-colleague but have yet to buy from them yet.
Bedsheepz is a newly established online shop by one of my friend, Magmag and 2 of her other friends. They got the distributorship from the US company. Their aim is to deliver quality bed-linen with extraordinary designs for babies, children and young adults. 100% of the fabric in the bedding is certified free of major toxic chemicals. Even celebraties like Julia Roberts are using this particular brand of bedding for her kids.
Compassvale Massage is where I go for some massages when I need someone to massage my aches away. It’s home-based and for ladies only. Price is pretty affordable and it’s super convenient for me :p
That’s all for now. I hope all of you will enjoy shopping online as much as I do. Happy shopping!!!
Random Tots Of The Day
- I have learnt that it doesn’t really pays to be kind most of the times.
- My patience is running short with people who have serious attitude problems and bad mood swings worse than the weather.
- I am treated like a stupid fool sometimes when people just get angry with me for no valid reason suddenly and decided not to talk to me. Then the next moment when they are in better moods, they started to talk to me like long lost friends again. Do I look like a Venting Machine to them?
- I am glad I will be going for a short getaway this Friday because I need to get a breather badly.
- I do not know how long I can tolerate all the nonsenses from work, family, friends etc, but am trying very hard to prevent the volcano inside me from erupting.
- More and more people are taking me for granted.
- Singapore is getting overpopulated which resulted bad traffic jams due to too many vehicles on the road, trains sardine-packed with people 24/7 plus the frequent train faults even when we the commuters are paying more and more for transport. WTH!
- I wonder how long the police gonna take to catch Mas Selamat.
- I need a damn good moisturiser (La Mer, maybe?) which can stop my face from the frequent peeling.
- I can feel the PMS sympthoms acting up in my body because I can see the signs in my mood. Urgh!
Mummy Noelle’s Birthday Treat
Knowing Mummy Noelle’s nanny is leaving soon, which also means it will be more difficult to meet her, I quickly dated her out last Wednesday. Her birthday falls on 2 March which is on a Sunday and I am pretty sure this year is gonna be a family celebration with her hubby and baby Natalie
Blissful Mummy Noelle, I always told her.
Anyway, I brought her to Manhattan Fish Market at PS for dinner. It’s our first time there and I can say the food was really not bad. After dinner, we adjourned to TCC for drinks and continued our chats.
Both of us had the soup of the day which was mushroom soup. I had Grilled Salmon Fish with chips while Mummy Noelle had Baked Dory Fish with garlic rice. Yummy!

While we were waiting for our drinks at TCC, I decided to pass her the birthday present I got for her. It’s a Longchamp bag. Initially I had wanted to get red colour for her but I chanced upon their latest season colour which was a very nice shade of purple. With the stocks running low for this particular colour, I decided to get it which is much more special compared to red which is quite a common colour. I loved the colour very much so in the end I got 2 instead of 1. Ya~ 1 for myself! :p
