Just went to do my nails during lunchtime because tonight I got to attend my dear dear’s sister’s wedding dinner. Had wanted to do a full manicure but the slots were all taken up. Not wanting to disappoint me, the receptionist managed to squeeze in an express manicure slot for me. It’s my first time there after their revamp. I think it used to be Hollywood Secrets doing make-up, makeovers and nail services. But now they are only doing nail services. The manicurist who did my nails for me was really good even though it’s express manicure. I have been to other nail salons before and have experienced really bad services like cutting too deep on your cuticles till it bleed and the painting was messy on the sides. Since it’s so near to my workplace and their service is good, I am sure I will go back to Hollywood Nails again. Good service will always have the customers returning for more
It’s Labour Day tomorrow and may everybody have a good holiday!

Dinner @ Ma Maison
After postponing our meet-ups for several times due to our busy schedule, Linda, Jessica and I finally met up for dinner last night. Jessica will always be the one who choose the venue because she have lots of nice places to recommend. The last time we went was Ms Clarity Cafe. This time round we went to Ma Maison. It’s my first time there and being the suaku one, I didn’t even know such nice restaurant actually exists in Bugis. Since both Jessica and Linda have been there before, I left the ordering to them. We ordered a few dishes to try and it was really nice. Service was good too. Though we do keep in touch by chatting via MSN at times, but nothing beats meeting up to chat. As usual, we had our usual laughs and gossips about the time when we used to work together. After the dinner, we went on a Skin Food shopping before we went on our separate ways. I enjoyed myself as much as they did. We planned to meet up again real soon and I am looking forward to meeting them again. Take a look at the food we ordered.
There’s scorched eggs, japanese salad, hamburger steak, escargots, pizza and red bean dessert. After ordering, they will pass you a big key which have your table number. You will need it when you make payment at the cashier. So special and nice!

After we have finished the dessert, Linda the clever woman decided to make the ice bowl into an ice ashtray lor. Ji smart yi sia~

Lovely Jessica and Linda gave me a little surprise by asking the waiter to bring a brownie with candle for an early birthday celebration. How sweet of them! They even sang a super fast version of happy birthday song for me. LOL!

They asked me to treat the fork as knife and pretend to cut the brownie. Haha…

And this afternoon, my ex-boss Penny and ex-colleague Daniel came down to meet me for lunch. Even though I have left the company for several years, but we still kept in touch every now and then. Every year I will remember their birthdays and send them a birthday gift without fail. They too remember my birthday for the past few years and will always arrange to meet up with me. This year also no exception. How nice of them! Although the meet up was a short 1.5 hours, but it was a fulfilling one. Though we can’t be colleagues like before, but we have become good friends now. They even bought me birthday gift and a card. Thanks!

After a day of hard work, meeting up with people like them who bring comfort and laughter to you is really relaxing and consoling. I feel so loved to know there are people like them who remember and care for me. I am very happy not because they buy me lunches/dinners and bought me birthday gifts. But because I can feel the sincerity from them and their efforts to maintain the friendship.
Random Thoughts
- Finally, my exams are over! And school will only start on 6 May, which also means I will have 2 weeks plus of holidays before school starts again with my last 2 modules! Yippy!
- My deepest condolences on the lost of Elaine and her bf’s pet dog Dolby, the Golden.
- As usual, my work has piled up mountain high after I came back from my exam leave. But all my 4 bosses were not around, so I can at least relax a little bit in clearing the work :p
- After seeing how Mummy Noelle make Baby Natalie stop crying and sleep, I realised it’s really not an easy task taking care of a baby. Applauses to all the mothers out there!
- I didn’t know I have been treated like a fool all this while. Damn it!
- Don’t say something nice to please people when you don’t really mean it.
- Read a book recently and I totally agree when it wrote about whatever kind of relationships we have, be it friendship, relationship with family or love relationships, it takes 2 hands to clap to build up the trust, understanding and foundation over time and not overnight.
- I decided to give Charles & Keith a chance again by getting a pair of heels from their extensive lovely range but sad to say that the first wear already started to give me bad painful blisters. No more Charles & Keith shoes for me
- There’s alot of unhappy things that had happened and it’s totally beyond my control. Therefore, I have decided to let it go and not get bothered by it anymore.
And lastly Random Thought 10 : Though my life has it’s ups and downs, but I am very thankful and blessed to have the following people in my life and they are :
- my mum who cooks me my favourite food

- my dear dear who loves me for who I am, hugs me when I cry, motivates me to work harder, drives me around when I am bored and of course lots more.
- my colleagues who helps me out when I am busy and bought me little gifts once in a while.
- some of my closest friends who encourage me, lend me their listening ears, shower me with care, make me laugh with their jokes, share their joys and sorrows with me and meet me for kopi when they are free.
Dear Dear’s Birthday Celebration
Every year, I will source around for nice food with nice ambience to bring my dear dear for his birthday celebration 1-2 months before the actual day. And every year, he will ask me not to waste money to buy him dinner and present. But of course I didn’t listen to him because I just wanna pamper him on this special day of his :p So last Friday, I treated him to Japanese Restaurant called Gyu-Kaku for his birthday. What’s so special about that restaurant? Well, it’s because they served Wagyu Beef, the World’s Best Tasting Tender Beef. It’s even better than the Kobe beef I brought him to eat for his birthday last year. Though it’s also my first time there, but I must comment that their service was really good. The food and ambience were great too. I shall not elaborate further le. Let the photos do the talking ba. Start drooling!
Me and my dear dear at Gyu-Kaku.

We had assorted kimuchi, a choice of japanese salad, lamb neck fillet, US Kurobuta (collar) pork, assorted mushroom, Salmon with Miso taste, cold tofu, Wagyu fillet, Wagyu Karubi and Wagyu Rump Cap. We ordered some Shochu to drink. We even have green-tea Macha ice-cream and black sesame ice-cream for desserts. Totally yummilicious!

After the hearty dinner, we went down to Dragonfly to meet his colleagues for drinks. All of us had fun that night ![]()

Time Well-Spent
Went to Mummy Noelle’s house with my sister last week to visit the lovely mummy and cute Natalie. Bought a little top for Natalie with wordings “I am gorgeous just like mummy” on it. So cute hor. It’s only like 2 months since I last saw Natalie and she has grown so much. She knows how to smile and giggle when you play with her. After putting her to bed, the three of us went for some kopi at Parkway Parade. Though it’s only a short few hours, but it was sufficient to catch up with our lives with one another. Here are some photos we took last week.
Natalie is such a darling when she smiles ![]()

Wisdom Teeth Surgery
I know it’s April’s Fool Day today but what I am going to say it’s not a joke. I just went for my wisdom teeth extraction. Not 1. But extract 2 at a time.
Well, why it’s called Wisdom Teeth, or third molars because they appear much later than other teeth, at an age where people are much wiser than as a child. In Korean, it’s name is Sa-rang-nee (사랑니, love teeth) referring to the young age and the pain of the first love. In Thailand the wisdom tooth is described fan-khut (ฟันคุด) “huddling tooth” due to its shortage of place. How interesting, isn’t it?
Wisdom teeth are extracted for two general reasons: either the wisdom teeth have already become impacted, or the wisdom teeth could potentially become problematic if not extracted. For my case, it’s the latter. So in the end, I decided to make appointment with my dentist to get it extracted. The whole process took about an hour plus. The dentist was very good and he assured me that it’s not going to be painful. And of course I trusted him. After taking the x-ray of my teeth, 2-3 injections to numb the area, he covered my eyes so that I won’t know what he’s doing, the extraction started. I felt no pain except numbness in my mouth. Not forgetting how tired my mouth was because I got to open my mouth wide for the dentist to do the extraction. Ji suan yi siah lor~ After it’s all done, the dentist gave me a pat on my shoulder and said ” You are very brave.” Yes indeed. I realized my threshold for pain was really good. Being curious how my tooth look like, I sat up and looked at the tray. I was quite surprised my teeth looked so big. For those who want to see how it looks like can scroll further down. But it’s not for the faint-hearted because it’s pretty bloody.
Bleeding and oozing is inevitable and should be expected to last up to three days (although by day three it should be less noticeable), the dentist gave me 4 days of MC to rest at home to nurse the wounds due to the stitches. But after 1-2 days of resting I will go back to work liao because got loads of work waiting for me to do. Plus I will be away a few days again next week for my exams, so must clear as much work as I can. Alrighty. Gonna change the gauze pads now. Ciao!
