Long Weekend Of Food & Naps

I am sure most of you enjoyed a great long weekend due to the Deepavali holiday. For me, it’s a weekend of eating, nua-ing, cleaning and washing. I seriously do not know how I can lose weight when the festive season are round the corner with all the year-end parties etc. Anyway, it’s hard not to indulge when I simply love food :p Back to my long weekend, last Friday after work my notti one brought me to have Beach Road Scissors Cut Curry Rice for dinner. It’s my first time eating there. It’s like those roadside old restaurants in Malaysia. There’s chairs and tables inside and outside for customers to sit. While we were eating our dinner, we will hear the snapping of the scissors when the stall people were cutting the food and the sound of the vehicles. The feeling was totally different from where we usually go for dinner. And I like it. You doesn’t have to be in some fancy restaurants to enjoy the food. Hawker food or roadside stalls serves nice good food too. The following photos tell it all :)

People queuing up for the famous scissors cut curry rice. My notti one queuing up to get the food too :)

These were what we ordered : Fried eggs, curry chicken, braised pork, pork ribs soup and 2 plates of rice with curry gravy and black braised pork gravy. Oiishi!!!

On Sunday, we went to China Square Central flea market to get notti one’s collectables (his toys). Before that, we had our lunch at the hawker centre there. Wanted to have the famous char kuay tiao and fried bazhang but they were closed. While we looked for other options, we saw alot of people ordering the prawn noodle so we decided to try it too. I must say the service was really really good. The prawn noodle tasted good too. And 1 thing I like about the prawn noodle was the prawns were peeled off leaving the tail. It makes it easier for ladies to eat.

Of Wedding, Birthday & Holiday

It’s been ages since I last went Bugis. So yesterday I arranged to meet up with my sister for dinner and do some shopping. As I have been craving for spaghetti and my sister have not tried Sketches before, we decided to have our dinner there. After the hearty dinner, we shopped abit before we headed back home to rest. Retail therapy helps in relieving stress, you know? :p

Our yummilicious spaghetti

After the hearty dinner, I insisted my sister must try the Uzumaki ice-cream. My fav is the black sesame and green tea ice-cream!

Last Saturday, I was invited to attend Apple’s birthday celebration at Butter Factory. The theme was Masquerade. Not wanting to miss the fun without a mask, I went Toys’r'us to get 2 masks, 1 for myself and 1 for Noelle. The masks I got not bad looking though. Well, all I can said about the party was awesome because most of the people who attended wore a mask. These were some photos taken on that night.y!!

Lovely people with their lovely masks

Noelle saw this very unique mask and she borrowed it so that we can take photos with it

Masquerade night rawks!

Kisses and more kisses throughout the night.

Not forgetting what we are good at and love to do -> Zi lian-ing

A week plus ago was our friend Marilyn’s wedding. We organised a hen’s night for her a week before her wedding but I shall leave the update to Esther. Keke… I hereby would like to wish the newly-wed couple, Marilyn and Edmund, a blissful marriage. Zhao Shen Gui Zi!

Some photos taken with my dear dear, Noelle & family and lovely Esther.

Cutie Natalie kept herself entertained with her toys and the utensils on the baby chair.

PS : 11 days more to the long-awaited well-deserved holiday in Bangkok! Yippy!!

Four Points Media Event @ Rochester Park

After the F1 event I coordinate for one of my directors, next was a media event for my PR director. This media event coincides with the Singapore Beer Festival because it’s also about beer. To cut the story short, I just learnt that it’s really not easy to coordinate a press media event from the start till the end. It’s hard work but you will achieve work satisfaction when the event went on smoothly. For this event, we have invited press media people from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Photos time!

Singapore do not have a Four Points hotel, therefore we held the event outside.

Best Brews is the hotel’s new beer program and a Chief Beer Officer has been engaged by the hotel to travel the country testing out beers at beer festivals and oversee this new beer program.

One of the activities during the event was beer tasting.

Briefing time!

Took some photos with my China and India management trainees while we waited for the guests to arrive.

We took photos with the Chief Beer Officer too :)

Hossan Leong was engaged to be the emcee for the event. He is really good! Very entertaining :)

We also have other activities like apple-pie making and beer matching game.

Lastly, not forgetting the yummilicious food served for the night.

F1, Horses and Children’s Day

Singapore’s First F1 Night Race is finally over! Last Friday, which was the first day of the F1, my office was closed. Reason being it’s located at Suntec City and alot of roads were closed. But poor me do not have the luxury of sleeping in on the rainy Friday. I woke up early to go back to the office to finish up the remaining preparation for the F1 event. Well, my company bought 150 of the GrandStand Club Suite tickets for the 3-day event and I was asked to coordinate this event for one of my directors. Preparation began months ago starting with the invitation list. Most of our high-profile customers from Singapore and other countries were invited. To cut the story short, there’s more cancellations when the event gets nearer. Even on the event day itself, there’s even people calling us saying that they can’t attend. With extra tickets, my boss asked me to go in order not to waste the tickets. But I didn’t go because I was really exhausted after several weeks of late-nights in the office doing the preparation for the event. So luckily, last minute I found another Singapore-based customer to fill in the slot. My dear dear kept saying it’s such a waste not to go. But to me, I find that it’s fine to watch it at the comfort of my home :)

After several hours of working alone in the office doing the final invitation list, I left the office and made my way to meet my dear friend, Noelle for lunch. As we wanted to have some quiet moments away from the crowded and noisy places, we went through the list of places in our organizer which we compiled. Off we went to Bukit Timah Saddle Club. When we reached there, we were glad that we made the right choice. A nice and quiet place to have meals, see the horses and chit-chat. The food was not bad too.

Noelle and her spaghetti.

Me and my fish and chips.

Noelle kept looking at the black horse while having her spaghetti. She prefer horses with glossy black coat instead of the normal white snowy coat.

Two of us, feeling happy and relaxed.

A cow in a saddle club!?

LOL! It’s a horse with cow prints lah :p Ji cute yi sia~

Yesterday was not only Hari Raya Puasa, it’s also Children’s Day. So I brought the notti one to his favourite shop and he bought himself a PS3 game and a collector’s toy. To me, he is still like a little boy :)

The notti one’s PS3 game – Silent Hill : HomeComing.

A new Coach bag for my weekend use :) Nice~

PS : Recently, the doings of some individuals make me despise them quite a fair bit. Though I don’t understand why they are doing all these, but I am sure they must have felt satisfaction or gain something out of it. Nobody can give a definite right or wrong. But if they feel what they have done didn’t corrupt their integrity and they are happy about it, by all means continue doing it. Of course I am in no right to stop them because it’s none of my business. But I have the right to cut all ties with this type of people who have no sense of shame.
