I am sure most of you enjoyed a great long weekend due to the Deepavali holiday. For me, it’s a weekend of eating, nua-ing, cleaning and washing. I seriously do not know how I can lose weight when the festive season are round the corner with all the year-end parties etc. Anyway, it’s hard not to indulge when I simply love food :p Back to my long weekend, last Friday after work my notti one brought me to have Beach Road Scissors Cut Curry Rice for dinner. It’s my first time eating there. It’s like those roadside old restaurants in Malaysia. There’s chairs and tables inside and outside for customers to sit. While we were eating our dinner, we will hear the snapping of the scissors when the stall people were cutting the food and the sound of the vehicles. The feeling was totally different from where we usually go for dinner. And I like it. You doesn’t have to be in some fancy restaurants to enjoy the food. Hawker food or roadside stalls serves nice good food too. The following photos tell it all
People queuing up for the famous scissors cut curry rice. My notti one queuing up to get the food too ![]()

These were what we ordered : Fried eggs, curry chicken, braised pork, pork ribs soup and 2 plates of rice with curry gravy and black braised pork gravy. Oiishi!!!

On Sunday, we went to China Square Central flea market to get notti one’s collectables (his toys). Before that, we had our lunch at the hawker centre there. Wanted to have the famous char kuay tiao and fried bazhang but they were closed. While we looked for other options, we saw alot of people ordering the prawn noodle so we decided to try it too. I must say the service was really really good. The prawn noodle tasted good too. And 1 thing I like about the prawn noodle was the prawns were peeled off leaving the tail. It makes it easier for ladies to eat.
